01 / MEET MAX
Max Mogensen.
Max is a lifelong Mainer and author of a history book on Androscoggin County. His published work in Maine newspapers and journals has often focused on the living history of Maine and the people who make it.
For the last fourteen years, he's called Portland home, living on Munjoy Hill and in the West End, with an office in the Arts District just steps from Congress Square Park. He likes history best when it connects to the city around us.

Matt Dodge.
Matt is another lifelong Mainer and nearly twenty-year Portland resident who's lived in Munjoy Hill, the Old Port, Parkside, Bayside, and Deering. His writing has appeared in Dispatch, Mainebiz, the Free Press, the Daily Sun, the Press Herald, and the Phoenix.
He also spent years showing visitors the city firsthand: first as a pedicab guide, then on Portland's fire truck tours. He knows the streets, the scenes, and the stories in between.
